Smoke fills North Stafford Goodwill store, building evacuated

A trash compactor caught fire at a Goodwill store in North Stafford.

At about 11:30 a.m. Sunday, November 29 the Stafford County Fire and Rescue was called to fire at Goodwill Industries located at 72 Doc Stone Drive. Callers reported a trash compactor was on fire at this location.

Crews found smoke coming from multiple doors of the building and confirmed the fire in the trash compactor, which was beginning to spread. Crews extinguished the fire before it could extend into the rest of the building.
