North Stafford, Va. — Paul Milde hadn’t used Twitter since June, so when he posted his latest Tweet on Saturday night he apparently wanted to make it count.
Milde, Stafford’s Aquia District Supervisor, threw his support behind Frank McKinney for Garrisonville District Supervisor. This comes after Milde earlier this month voted, with the rest of the Board, to appoint GOP Stafford School Board Member Ty Schieber to the Garrisonville Supervisor seat, on an interim basis, until voters go to the polls April 3 to select a permanent supervisor.
“Frank’s credentials easily make him the more conservative of the candidates,” said Milde.
He went on to say he likes Schieber personally, but McKinney is the best choice for Garrisonville.
Schieber, who prior to this seemed to be the GOP shoe-in candidate to replace former Garrissonville District Supervisor and Board Chairman, now Delegate Mark Dudenhefer.
Dudenhefer now represents Stafford and eastern Prince William counties in Virginia’s House of Delegates.
Schieber, Democrat Gary Pash, and now it appears McKinney, will all compete April 3 when voters will decide who will finish the remaining two years of Dudenhefer’s Board term.
According to his Facebook page, McKinney hails from Mississippi and works as a marketing consultant.
Milde has announced an information meeting about his decision to support McKinney that is scheduled to begin tonight at 7:30 at Hampton Oaks Elementary School, at 107 Northampton Boulevard in North Stafford.
As of late, Milde has attempted without much success to drum up support for the creation of an At-large Board seat. An At-large seat — which Schieber said he does not support — would represent all Stafford County residents, and serve as a political figure head for the county.
