The Marine Corps on Monday required Marines to wear face masks as part of their uniforms in an effort to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
Face masks are required for all Marines who are unable to maintain the six-feet social distancing mandate orders by the CDC and President Donald Trump.
Family members of Marines are also encouraged to wear face masks in barracks, family housing, and apartment housing.
Marines are encouraged to make their own face masks. They are not allowed to wear N95 protective masks, as those are reserved for appropriate personnel,” according to the order.
The new order will affect Marines at all bases around the world, as well as Quantico Marine Corps Base in our area.
The face mask order comes as DoD officials have canceled all international travel in the wake of the global coronavirus pandemic.
