The Prince William Chamber of Commerce will hold it’s annual “Future of the Region” event where representatives will speak about what new businesses are coming to the region, and the types of enterprises they’re pursuing.
We asked officials in the region to give us a preview of what they’ll be discussing.
Prince William Economic Development Director Christina Win says she’ll be talking about the effort to build a new Kaiser Permanente South complex, a $200 million, 250,000 square feet center that will provide a range of healthcare services to its patients including adult and pediatric care, women’s health services, and outpatient surgery.
She’ll also discuss the county’s nearly half-million-dollar investment into Brickyard, a new co-working space that was set to open last fall, and how has an opening timeframe of February. “…there isn’t a firm date yet. They are almost complete with build-out,” said Winn.
In recent years, Manassas has been the economic development darling of the region after it lured a $3 billion expansion of the existing Micron plant in the city. The deal, larger the $2.5 billion Amazon deal in Crystal City, will mean the company will ramp-up production of chips that will be used in driverless automobiles.
