Diane Raulston to run for re-election to Prince William County School Board

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — Diane Raulston has announced that she will run for re-election this November to the Prince William County School Board (PWCSB) as its Neabsco District representative.

Raulston was first elected to the school board in November of 2015.

According to the PWCSB’s website, Raulston has received many awards for her work for the advancement of student achievement. The most notable award came from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Title One Programs – Parent Leader Advocate Program of 1990.

Raulston had this to say about her announcement for re-election:

I am proud to officially announce my re-election campaign for the Prince William County School Board, representing the Neabsco Magisterial District.

Beginning as a grandparent volunteer in the Neabsco Schools for more than 10 years; I chaperoned field trips, read to students, volunteered in the schools, supported parents and children before deciding to seek the school board position.

With all three of my grandchildren, only attending schools in Neabsco, I have had the opportunity to gain an in-depth knowledge of what our students and families experience in our schools each day.

For the past four years as your Neabsco School Board Representative, with constituent support we were able to reduce the number of portable classrooms by nearly 70% throughout the Neabsco district.

When I took office in 2015 there were 36 trailers throughout Neabsco. At the start of the 2019-2020 there will only be 12 trailers left in Neabsco.

I helped lead the fight for higher teacher compensation as well as helped with the expansion of the CTE Programs.

Together we can continue to make improvements and finish the job we started four years ago.  I need your support and your vote. We can’t let our enthusiasm and our momentum fade; we still have work to do.

Although my campaign is only days old, I am proud to share with you earned endorsements:

“I proudly endorse Diane Raulston to continue to represent the Neabsco District on the Prince William County School Board. For the past four years, she has nurtured and cared for the children. She truly is a great advocate for quality education,” said Ernestine Jenkins, wife of John D. Jenkins.
