North Stafford Home Burglarized

North Stafford, Va. — A home behind Brafferton Center shopping plaza was burglarized Sunday, but neighbors say they got a good glimpse of the man who might have been behind the larceny.

Residents at a home on Pewter Lane, behind the shopping center on Va. 610 in North Stafford, said they left their home early in the afternoon Sunday. They didn’t turn on any lights before they left, but when they got home just before 10 p.m. lights were on and items like a computer and other electronics, computer games, bottles of alcohol were all missing, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

In addition to missing items, other possessions were strewn about the floor and a bedroom window had been opened, he added.

When deputies checked behind the home they found a camera and a fire safe that was also reported stolen from the home along the fence line.

Its’ widely known that pedestrians cut across properties on this street to get to Brafferton Center which features businesses like a large health club and grill and bar. A witness told police they saw a man in the backyard of the burglarized home on Sunday.

He’s described as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall, thin build, wearing a white and blue baseball cap, a jacket and dark jeans, said Kennedy.
