Leadership Prince William moves annual awards to Quantico

QUANTICO MARINE CORPS BASE — The Leadership Prince William class of 2019 will graduate from a new location.

The non-profit’s annual awards and recognition ceremony will be held this year at the Clubs at Quantico, also known as the Officer’s Club. After years of being for Marine Corps personnel only, the building is open to the public.

This year’s “Evening of Excellence” is dubbed “Kaleidoscope,” and it will celebrate the leadership and positive change the organization has brought to the community since its founding in 2007, said  Leadership Prince William Executive Director Andrea Money.

In previous years, the event held at the Harbour View Events Center in Woodbridge.

In addition honoring this year’s class, the Kaleidoscope event “will also honor our Leadership Vision Award Winner, Michael Vanderpool, and the Kathy Ellington Alumni Leadership Award Winner,” adds Money.

The 39 members of the Leadership Prince William Class of 2019 met one day per month through between September and June, taking field trips in Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park, learning about topics that range from the history of the region, government, and health and human services

This year’s class includes Victor Angry, a Dale City Volunteer Firefighter who as just elected to complete the term of the late Prince William County Neabsco District Supervisor John D. Jenkins.

The event will take place Friday, June 21, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. The Clubs at Quantico is located at 3017 Russell Road at Quantico Marine Corps Base.
