STAFFORDÂ -- (Press Release) This year, nearly 800 Special Olympics Virginia athletes will run, jump and shoot for gold at the annual Special Olympics Virginia Basketball Championships. And help is needed!
Step off the sidelines and onto the court as a volunteer at Basketball Championships, March 1-2 in Stafford. Competitions will take place at various middle and high schools and include full court games, half court games, individual skill drills and unified games, where players with and without disabilities play on the same team.
Ten of the teams competing, as well as 12 athletes who will compete in individual skills drills, are local to the Stafford/Spotsylvania/Fredericksburg area.
