Intoxicated Juvenile Arrested After Breaking into Stafford Residence

(Press Release) An intoxicated juvenile suspect was arrested early Thursday morning by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office after breaking into an occupied residence.

On December 27, 2018, Deputy Wright responded to a burglary in progress at a residence on Pierce Court. Upon arrival, deputies established a perimeter and safely removed the homeowners and their baby from the home. The 16-year-old suspect was located sleeping on the couch in the living room and was subsequently removed from the residence. He was wearing no clothes and was wrapped in a blanket. I

n the meantime, Deputy Motley and Sgt. Rakoczy made contact with the homeowners who said they were asleep when they heard a knock on the door and a male subject repeatedly yelling for them to let him in.

The homeowners did not recognize the subject and opened a window to tell the subject to leave the property. The subject then began kicking the door and nearby window, prompting one of the homeowners to grab his firearm and fire a shot into the ground as a warning to persuade the subject to leave.

The subject continued kicking the window, eventually breaking it and making entry into the basement area of the residence. The homeowner then used bedroom furniture to barricade his family in their bedroom until deputies arrived. Juvenile Intake was contacted and the suspect was turned over to the custody of his parents.

Petitions will be filed for multiple charges including unlawful entry, minor in possession of alcohol, and vandalism.

ROBBERY Riverton Drive, 12/21. Units responded to reports of an assault. The victim alleged he was attacked by two males wearing all black at approximately 7:00 a.m. near his residence. The victim stated he was punched in the face and they attempted to take his wallet out of his pocket, but were not successful. The suspects fled into the woods when the victim began screaming for help. The investigation is ongoing.

VANDALISM

700 block of Forbes Street, 12/22, 5:48 a.m. Front window of residence shattered. The investigation is ongoing.

Mine Road Commuter Lot, 12/21, 3:30 p.m. Victim reported vandalism of his vehicle at the commuter lot. He told deputies someone had “keyed” the right side of the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY

300 block of Malvern Lakes Circle 12/24, 5:04 p.m. Suspect got into a verbal altercation with her neighbor and attempted to force entry into her neighbor’s apartment. Sonnette Ann Griffin, 50, of Fredericksburg was taken into custody for assault and battery and breaking and entering.

Sam’s Pizza and Subs, 432 Garrisonville Road, 12/22, 12:08 a.m. Deputies responded to a burglar alarm at a local business. Upon arrival, they discovered the front door was open and the glass shattered. The investigation is ongoing.

Nara Thai, 432 Garrisonville Road, 12/22, 12:08 a.m. Deputies on the scene of a breaking and entering at a nearby business observed the front glass door shattered. A cash register with money inside was stolen. The investigation is ongoing.

Chica’s Market, 432 Garrisonville Road, 12/22, 12:08 a.m. Deputies on the scene of a breaking and entering at a nearby business observed the front glass door shattered. After making contact with the owner, they learned money had been stolen from the cash register. The investigation is ongoing.

Skrimp Shack, 736 Warrenton Road, 12/22, 9:54 a.m. Owner reported breaking and entering at the business. The front door was shattered and there was money missing from the cash registers. The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY

Triumph Lane, 12/25. Victim observed a suspect going through his toolbox in front of his residence. After deputies arrived, they learned one tool had been stolen. The victim said the suspect fled when he saw him. There are no suspects at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

Walmart, 217 Garrisonville Road, 12/24. A loss prevention employee observed two suspects attempting to steal from the store by failing to scan all of their merchandise at the self-checkout. One of the suspects was wanted on two felony shoplifting warrants. Jennie Earl, 31, of Stafford was taken into custody on her outstanding warrants. She was also charged with obtaining money by false pretenses and concealment of merchandise. Earl was released on a $2500.00 secured bond. The second suspect was identified as Stormy Gauldin, 25, of Stafford. She was taken into custody on a releasable warrant for concealment of merchandise.

On December, 24, 2018, Deputy James Wright was patrolling in the area of Butler Road and Cambridge Street when he observed a speeding vehicle. The deputy then activated his emergency equipment and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Cambridge Street and Truslow Road.

(Press Release) Woman charged with providing false identification following a traffic stop 

A suspect was arrested on several charges, including providing false identification to law enforcement, following a traffic stop in Stafford County on Monday.

On December, 24, 2018, Deputy James Wright was patrolling in the area of Butler Road and Cambridge Street when he observed a speeding vehicle. The deputy then activated his emergency equipment and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Cambridge Street and Truslow Road.
The driver of the vehicle told the deputy she did not have her driver’s license, so she provided her name, date of birth, and social security number. The deputy learned the identification she provided was fake and detained the suspect in his vehicle.

Eventually, the driver admitted her real identity was Angelia Webb, 44, of Fredericksburg. Her driver’s license returned suspended.
Webb was taken into custody and incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2000.00 secured bond. She is charged with providing false identification to law enforcement, identity theft, and driving suspended.

(Press Release) Two charged with vandalizing hotel room

Two suspects were arrested on Sunday by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office after vandalizing a hotel room in the southern end of the county. On December 23, 2018, Deputy George Motley responded to a disturbance at Country Inn and Suites located at 656 Warrenton Road. When he arrived, he made contact with a hotel employee who said she received several complaints from guests about the odor of marijuana coming from a room on the fourth floor.

The hotel employee located the guests registered to that room and told them to pack their belongings and leave the premises due to the marijuana. The two guests became belligerent and the male subject threatened the employee. They then vandalized their room before leaving in a black Jeep Wrangler.

The deputy checked the room and observed some damage.

Additional units located the suspect vehicle at the nearby Clarion Inn located at 564 Warrenton Road. Deputy Motley arrived at that location and detained the suspects. They were identified as Byron Waller, 30, of Austell, Georgia and Zakiya Armotrading, 30, of Palmetto, Georgia.
While in the hotel room, the deputy observed a firearm on a bench. The room also smelled strongly of marijuana.
The suspects were taken into custody and incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail on secured bonds. Waller is charged with assault and battery, disorderly conduct, obstruction of justice, and destruction of property. Armotrading was charged with destruction of property and obstruction of justice.

(Press Release) December 21, 2018 Target, 1090 Stafford Market Place, 12/20. Suspect taken into custody after stealing merchandise from the store during four separate incidents. Anthony Osei-Kufuor, 22, of Fredericksburg was charged with concealment of merchandise and incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1000.00 secured bond. Cummings Drive, 12/20. Package stolen from outside of residence. The investigation is ongoing.

Target, 25 South Gateway Drive, 12/20, 8:25 p.m. Suspect attempts to steal speaker valued at $29.99 from the store. Nicolas Veldran-Pacheco, 19, of Fredericksburg received a summons for concealment of merchandise and was provided a written trespass notice.

Mega Beauty Supply, 367 Warrenton Road, 12/20, 3:46 p.m. Suspect taken into custody for stealing two wigs from the store. Jasmine Broner, 18, of Stafford was released on a summons for concealment of merchandise.

FRAUD

Lakeside Drive, 12/20. Victim reports scam. She told the Sheriff’s Office that she was contacted by a company offering her a job as a mystery shopper. She accepted and they instructed her to purchase two $500 gift cards and provide the information to the company. They sent her a check for $1394.00. When she attempted to cash the check at her bank, they informed her it was fraudulent. The investigation is ongoing.

HIT AND RUN

Jefferson Avenue, 12/20. Victim reports that her parked vehicle was struck outside of her residence on 12/16 and the suspect vehicle left the scene without providing any contact information. There are no suspects at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
