DUMFRIES -- It’s going to cost you more if you get a ticket in Dumfries.
The town council authorized Police Chief Nicholas Esposito to tack on an additional $5 fee to each ticket issued by his officers.
The new fee will go to pay for new computers that will be installed in each of the police cars in the town. The new system, already in use in Prince William County, allows officers to enter data into the computer as they work during their shift.
