Woodbridge, Va. — With what is predicted to be a violent storm on the way, Virginia State Parks announced they will be closing several state parks by this afternoon.
Pocahontas, Lake Anna, Caledon, Leesylvania and Mason Neck State Parks will all be closing early. Those with reservations at Pocahontas or Lake Anna for this weekend are advised to not go to the park. Via Facebook, the State Park Service also reminded park guests “The safety of our visitors and staff is paramount! When a park is closed–that means CLOSED even if you consider the park your backyard. Please do not go beach combing, hike or bike on the trails during or after the storm until the park is officially re-opened.”
