Woodbridge, Va. — Woodbridge residents: get ready for your phones to ring as Supervisor Frank Principi once more will call 10,000 homes so residents can share what’s on their minds.
The calls will begin Wednesday at 7 p.m., and residents will have the option of participating in the live chat where they can speak with Principi directly.
“It is an exciting time for the Woodbridge Magisterial District. We have so much going on with end of the year budgeting, the Route 1 expansion to reduce traffic and congestion, and the exploration of various transit options in our area, and people need to be aware of these positive changes to Woodbridge. I urge everyone to participate and ask questions. I want to hear from as many people as possible on Wednesday night,” said Principi in a press release.
The supervisor was one of the first in the area to adopt the the tele-town hall technology, holding his first telephone question and answer session in January where more than 1,000 residents participated. Those who did not have their questions answered were promised a follow up call from the supervisor.
Vowing to hold a tele-town hall each quarter, this will be Prinicipi’s third tele-town hall meeting. The practice was later picked up by Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-Fairfax, Prince William).
The town halls come during an election year where Principi, a Democrat, is vying to retain his seat on the Prince William County Board of Supervisors.
Principi has made his vision for a new Woodbridge, with dense, walkable, transit-oriented development with a wider U.S. 1 a cornerstone in his campaign. In addition to his supervisory duties, Prinicpi also heads the Greater Prince William Community Health Center on Ridewood Center Drive, off Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge.
He will face Republican opponent Chris Royce in the general election on Nov. 8.
