Lawrence Neil Hunsberger

Lawrence Neil Hunsberger, age 72, passed away on October 25, 2017 at NOVANT Health Prince William Medical Center in Manassas, VA.

He was born on April 14, 1945 in Warrenton, VA to the late Lawrence Wharton and Frances Belle (Smith) Hunsberger. Mr. Hunsberger served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was a Prince William County Firefighter from 1976-1997. After retirement, he enjoyed working part time at Southern States. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing, camping, farming and gardening. He appreciated his family and spent countless hours with his kids and grandkids. Lawrence was a huge Redskins Fan.

Survivors include one son: Neil Hunsberger and wife Lindsey; two daughters: Sheryl Duna and husband Christopher; and Deborah Hunsberger and Keith Parsons; former spouse: Cora L. Swett; nine grandchildren: Christopher Duna, Isabella Hunsberger, Bethany Hunsberger, Nicholas Duna, Peyton Hunsberger, Camden Boyd, Dawson Hunsberger, Darbi Hunsberger and Elladeigh Hunsberger; two brothers: Alan Hunsberger and wife Wanita; and Dennis Hunsberger; two sisters: Jean Mountjoy and husband David; and Joan Poole and husband Kenneth.

The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA; where a funeral service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Zachary A. Morrison officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens.
