Trouvaille Brewing Offers Support to Federal Employees with 1-Cent Beer

Trouvaille Brewing Company, a veteran-owned craft brewery in Haymarket, offers federal civilian employees a small token of support during economic uncertainty—one beer for just a penny. The offer, available through March 14, 2025, is open to all current and recently separated federal employees as a way to show appreciation for their service and dedication.

The brewery, which is co-owned by five partners—three of whom work in federal civilian roles and two who are military veterans—understands firsthand the challenges faced by government employees. Trouvaille Brewing’s owners juggle full-time careers while managing the brewery, hosting events, and building relationships with their community. Their deep ties to the area and shared experiences have made them acutely aware of the struggles many local residents face.

“With a high percentage of federal employees in our area, the uncertainty of job security creates significant stress,” said Stephen Boyajian, co-owner of Trouvaille Brewing Company. “We hear these concerns firsthand in our taproom and see the toll it takes on our customers. Three of our owners share this same uncertainty, so we knew we had to do something to show solidarity.”

Just days after launching the initiative, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Customers have expressed gratitude, some have asked how they can pay it forward, and others have suggested ways to expand the program.

The brewery emphasizes that this initiative is not a political statement but a gesture of goodwill meant to foster community connection.

“We want to be clear: this is not a political statement,” Boyajian added. “It’s simply a gesture of goodwill—an opportunity to bring people together over a cold beer in a welcoming space.”

Federal employees can take advantage of the offer by visiting Trouvaille Brewing and showing proof of employment. The brewery asks patrons to respect the terms of the offer—one discounted beer per person—to ensure fairness and allow as many people as possible to benefit.

The initiative underscores Trouvaille Brewing’s commitment to its customers, many of whom frequent the taproom as a space to relax, share stories, and find camaraderie. “Your struggles are our struggles, and when something affects you, it affects us, too,” the brewery stated in its announcement.
