
Schools across the region will be closed on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, as a winter storm moves through the area, bringing snow and hazardous travel conditions.
King George County Schools will be closed and have designated the day as an Asynchronous Learning Day. 12-month employees are expected to report to work on time.
Spotsylvania County Public Schools will be closed and will operate under Code 3: Remote Learning Day. 12-month employees should report to work on time as safety permits. The district will continue to monitor weather conditions.
Fredericksburg City Public Schools (FCPS) will operate under a Code Blue/Remote Learning Day due to the current weather advisory and uncertain conditions. Students should not report to school but are expected to participate in teacher-planned learning opportunities remotely.
Stafford County Public Schools will be closed for students. All 12-month employees, including emergency personnel, must report to work on time.
Winter Weather Advisory in Effect
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the region, including Greene, Orange, and Spotsylvania Counties, as well as the Northern Virginia Blue Ridge, from 10 AM to 10 PM on Wednesday.
