In a recent development, the Stafford County Board of Supervisors voted to allow Enon Road Solar Farm, LLC, to re-pitch their solar farm project on Enon Road ahead of the usual waiting period. This decision, made on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, waived the one-year restriction that typically follows a denied conditional use permit (CUP) application.
The initial application for the solar facility was denied by the Board on October 4, 2023, despite receiving recommendations for approval from both the Planning Commission and county staff. According to county regulations, a denied application cannot be resubmitted for at least a year. However, Enon Road Solar Farm, LLC formally requested a waiver of this rule on April 25, 2024.
