Prince William Police: “Armed Robbery *ARREST | ADDITIONAL INCIDENT – On September 23 at 10:49 p.m., officers responded to the Burke & Herbert Bank located at 14008 Smoketown Road in Woodbridge to investigate an alarm activation. When officers arrived at the business, an individual, later identified as the accused, was observed inside the bank.
Additional officers and a police K-9 responded, and the accused was taken into custody without incident. The investigation revealed the suspect damaged the ATM to gain entry into the bank. Officers determined additional property inside the bank was damaged and no property was reported missing.
While investigating the incident, officers determined the suspect was also actively wanted in connection to the robbery that was reported to have occurred at Kyle Wilson Elementary School located at 5710 Liberty Hill Court in Woodbridge on May 2. Following the investigations, the accused, identified as Hector Manuel DIAZ-GONZALEZ, was arrested without incident. Arrested September 24: Hector Manuel DIAZ-GONZALEZ, 21, of no fixed address. Charged with 1 count of armed bank robbery, 1 count of possession of burglarious tools. Previously Wanted for 1 count of robbery, 1 count of attempted carjacking, 1 count of carrying a weapon on school grounds, 1 count of credit card theft, and 2 counts of credit card fraud. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond.”
“Armed Robbery *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED [Previously Released] — On May 4, detectives identified the suspect in connection to the robbery that was reported to have occurred at Kyle Wilson Elementary School located at 5710 Liberty Hill Court in Woodbridge on May 2. Detectives also determined the suspect recently used the stolen credit cards that were inside the backpack at local business. Following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Hector Manuel DIAZ-GONZALEZ. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.”
“Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On May 2 at 6:53 p.m., officers responded to Kyle Wilson Elementary School located at 5710 Liberty Hill Court in Woodbridge to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 47-year-old woman, was walking to her vehicle in the parking lot when she was approached by an unknown man armed with a knife. During the encounter, the suspect pushed the victim before getting into her vehicle and attempting to drive away. When the victim refused to let the suspect leave, the suspect grabbed the victim’s backpack and fled on foot. The victim then immediately contacted the police. While investigating, officers determined shortly before the incident, the suspect attempted to gain entry into the victim’s vehicle and when he was not successful, he waited behind another vehicle for the victim to approach. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 and Fairfax County police helicopter searched for the suspect who was not located.”
“Armed Robbery – On September 22 at 8:48 p.m., officers responded to the Dollar Tree located at 5275 Waterway Drive in Dumfries to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed an unknown man brandished a firearm at employees and demanded money from the register. The suspect took an
undisclosed amount of money before leaving the store and getting into a waiting dark-colored sedan. No shots were fired during the incident.
Suspect Description: A black male, between 25-35 years old, approximately 6’2, with a thin build, medium length black hair twists. Last seen wearing a white hair piece, black sunglasses, a black face mask, a black jacket, a blue t
shirt, and black pants.”
“Strong-Arm Robbery – On September 21 at 6:43 p.m., officers responded to the 2500 block of Caton Hill Road in Woodbridge to investigate a robbery. The investigations revealed the victim, a 41-year-old man, arranged to purchase a 2009 GMC Sierra via a social media app and met with two men in the area to conduct the transaction. During the encounter, one of the men grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from the victim and ran to another vehicle. The suspect struck the victim with the vehicle door before the parties separated and the suspects fled the area. No injuries were reported. Both suspects were described as white males. The investigation continues as officers attempt to identify the suspects.”
“Brandishing of a Firearm | Road Rage Related – On September 22 at 9:02 a.m., officers responded to the area of Old Bridge Road and Antietam Road in Woodbridge to investigate a brandishing. The investigation revealed the victim, a 37-year-old man, was driving on Old Bridge Road. when he was involved in a road rage incident with the driver of a newer model, light-blue Chevrolet Silverado. During the encounter, the driver brandished a firearm towards the victim before quickly driving off. No shots were fired during the
incident. The suspect was described as a light-skinned male with a skinny build and short hair.”

“Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On September 24 at 7:12 p.m., officers responded to the Potomac Vista Apartments located in the 14100 block of Cove Landing Drive in Woodbridge to investigate a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed the victim, a 37-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused threw a wallet which struck the victim. Officers located the accused a short distance away. When officers attempted to detain the accused, he actively resisted and refused to follow officers’ commands. During the encounter, the accused struck two officers and damaged a parked vehicle before being detained without further incident. No injuries were reported by the victim. Both officers reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Kevin Alexander REYES RAMOS, was arrested. Arrested on September 24: Kevin Alexander REYES RAMOS, 19, of the 14100 block of Cove Landing Way. Charged with 2 counts of assault & battery on LEO, 1 count of domestic assault & battery, 1 count of obstruction of justice, and1 count of destruction of property. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond.”
“Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On September 23 at 5:52 p.m., officers were processing the accused at the Adult Detention Center located at 9320 Lee Avenue in Manassas for a separate incident when the accused spat on an officer. “Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds – On September 23 at 12:27 a.m., officers responded to Innovation Elementary School located at 8250 Ashton Avenue in Manassas to investigate a suspicious vehicle. Upon arriving at the school, officers made contact with the male and female occupants of the vehicle. While investigating the incident, officers observed a firearm inside the vehicle and detained the occupants without incident.
The investigation revealed the operator of the vehicle, identified as the accused, possessed the firearm while parked on school grounds. The other occupant of the vehicle was identified and released without criminal charges. No shots were fired during the incident, and there were no indications of threats posed towards the school. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jerome Tyree WEATHERSPOON, was arrested. Arrested on September 23: Jerome Tyree WEATHERSPOON, 24, of 3206 Antrim Close in Dumfries. Charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds. Court Date: Pending | Bond: $1,000 Unsecured.”

In a unique and chilly demonstration, residents of Fredericksburg gathered Wednesday to protest a proposed data center development near the Rappahannock River by building snowmen.
Organized by the Rappahannock Community Coalition, the “Snowmen Against Data Centers” rally took place just one day after nearly 10 inches of snow blanketed the region. The snowmen were erected on the Mary Washington University Campus, City Hall, and a house off Harrell Road in Stafford County.

Prince William County’s State of the Parks event, initially scheduled for Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Forest Park High School, has been postponed due to weather conditions and other considerations.
The State of the Parks event, set to feature insights from Prince William County Parks and Recreation Director Seth Hendler-Voss, will be rescheduled, with a new date and time to be announced soon.
“We want to ensure that all participants have the best possible experience and that the event can take place safely and under optimal conditions,” officials stated in their announcement.

The Stafford County Board of Supervisors is considering a zero-tax-increase budget for 2025, which has drawn community members’ support and concern. During the February 4, 2025, meeting, parents and education advocates urged the board to fund Stafford County Public Schools (SCPS) fully, emphasizing the need for higher teacher salaries, facility repairs, and student resources.
Speaking during the public comment period, Shannon Fingerholtz, a parent from the Hartwood District, called on the board to take responsibility for properly funding Stafford schools.
“Our students, our teachers, our staff, our community require a quality school system,” Fingerholtz said. “Quality means decently paid staff, buildings in good repair, and adequate materials. These all require funding.”
