One year on the job: Stafford schools superintendent talks pay raises, lunch hour, new standards, more parental involvement

Stafford County Schools Superintendent Dr. Thomas Taylor is celebrating one year on the job today.

Thomas came to the division from Chesterfield County Public Schools, where he was deputy superintendent. Stafford's fourth school superintendent in 12 years, school board members, parents, and students have praised Taylor for his willingness to shake up the system, listen to student voices, and leave pandemic-era restrictions in the past.

During a one-on-one interview with Potomac Local News, Taylor outlined his plans for the coming budget season, explained how the high schools adapted to a new one-hour school lunch period, and how he hopes the community will support the school division's efforts to improve academic performance.
