On Monday, July 25, the City Council voted to end an emergency it declared on March 17, 2020. Then, City Manager Patrick Pate declared a local crisis to optimize the city's response to a "serious threat to public safety posed by the coronavirus pandemic."
City documents state, "while COVID-19 continues as a serious public health concern, at this time, there is no existing need for the city to take emergency actions to combat the spread of the pandemic."
