Equity street: Leaders debate, pursue federal funds for Belmont Bay flyover

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors on Tuesday voted 4-2 to chase federal funds for what's called an equitable street project in Woodbridge.

The county's transportation office will apply for a Multimodal Project Discretionary Grant, administered by the U.S. Department of Transportation, for what's historically been referred to as a Route 1 flyover that would carry traffic on Route 123 over Route 1 into the waterfront Belmont Bay neighborhood.
