Prince William County fire and rescue crews went to the 6800 block of Stillbrooke Road, just off Route 234 near Independent Hill, and found fire in the rear of a house at 5:56 p.m., said spokesman Matt Smolensky.
Crews doused the blaze and reported moderate damage to the single-family home. No one was injured.
An investigation determined the cause of the blaze to be an accident. No other information was provided.
