Manassas residents can adopt a hydrant as a way to help keep Manassas beautiful.
The Manassas City Council was given a presentation from the Keep Manassas Beautiful committee. Its activities are dedicated to keeping the city clear of litter.
The committee has created many programs and events this year. The Adopt-a-Hydrant program seeks volunteers who can keep city hydrants clean and clear of snow during the winter season. Manassas has a total of 1,305 fire hydrants meant to provide quick access to water in emergency situations.
