On October 21, the former site of the Dumfries Rescue Squad played host to Vice-President Kamala Harris, who rallied supporters of Terry McAuliffe for Virginia Governor.
Hundreds turned out for the rally, including several federal, state, and local politicians like Senator Tim Kaine, State Senator Jeremy McPike, and Delegate Luke Torian, representing portions of Prince William County. Locally, Prince William County Board Chair Ann Wheeler and Manassas Mayor Michelle Davis Younger also attended.
Sources say Dumfries Mayor Derrick Wood organized the event at the building. On his mayoral Facebook page, Wood thanked town residents for electing him and promised and more events to come.
