Councilman David Farajollahi has dropped his November election bid to remain on the Manassas City Council.
Farajollahi issued a statement on his Facebook page noting he will drop out of the race effective today. Early voting began last month, and Farajollahi's name appears on the printed ballot.
"Unfortunately, the focus the last few weeks has been on me as a federal employee instead of what is important to the citizens of the city of Manassas... that's why I believe it best for me to withdraw as a candidate in this Special Election," Farajollahi posted.
