Police blotter: Arrest made after string of burglaries

Police made an arrest in a string of burglaries in the Dale City and Dumfries areas. Details of the arrest are below, and the full details on the burglaries are in the embeded PDF document in this post.

Commercial Burglaries | Attempted Commercial Burglaries – On September 4, the suspect sought in connection to the series of commercial burglaries and attempted burglaries which were reported to have occurred in the Dumfries (22025) and Woodbridge (22193) areas on the morning of August 2, was arrested. Members of the Fairfax County Police Department located the suspect, Davian Malik MCKINNIE, and took him into custody. The accused will remain at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center until transported to Prince William County.

Strangulation | Domestic Related – On September 6 at 3:35PM, officers responded to the Food Lion located at 5592 Staples Mill Plz. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 27-year-old woman, reported to police that earlier in the day she and a family member, identified as the accused, were driving near the above location, when the accused struck the victim during a verbal altercation.

The verbal altercation continued after the parties stopped in the above area. At one point, the victim ran into the business where the accused followed. The accused then followed the victim into the restroom where he then kicked in the stall door and grabbed the victim’s throat. As the victim was struggling to separate from the accused, he took her phone before she could exit the restroom.

The victim immediately sought a store employee who contacted the police. The accused fled the business on foot. While investigating, officers located the accused in the Woodbridge area and, after a brief struggle, took him into custody without further incident. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Gregory Alan LEPP, was arrested.

Police officer assualted – On September 6 at 4:29AM, officers responded to the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy. and Annapolis Way in Woodbridge (22192) to assist Virginia State Police with an arrest. During the arrest, the accused actively resisted and refused to follow officer’s commands.

At one point during the altercation, the accused spat on the officer on more than one occasion. After a brief struggle, the accused was taken into custody without further incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Bryan Joel GUILLEN, was charged.

Drugs — 190 Garrisonville Road, McDonald’s, 9/6, 1:39 p.m. Deputy D.R. Ludolph responded to the business for a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy located the suspect, Mark Apple, 36, of Bumpass. Apple appeared to be under the influence. He was found to be wanted out of Fauquier County. During a search of his vehicle, drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance were found. Apple was charged with public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of controlled paraphernalia. He was also served the outstanding warrant. Apple was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

DUI — 200 block of Garrisonville Road, 9/4, 12:13 a.m. Deputy F.A. Martinez stopped a vehicle for failing to maintain its lane of travel. The driver, Kevin Jauregui Plascencia, 18, of Manassas, smelled of alcoholic beverages and had slurred speech. Deputy B.M. Taylor administered field sobriety tests and Jauregui Plascencia was arrested. Open containers of alcoholic beverages were found inside the vehicle. Jauregui Plascencia was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while driving, and driving without a license. He was held on a $2,000 unsecured bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Wanted Maryland man found in hotel room — 401 Warrenton Road, Motel 6, 9/5, 6:21 p.m. Deputy A.G. Booth and Deputy F.C. O’Neill responded for a report of a wanted person. The deputies received information the suspect, Jennifer Labanowski, 37, of La Plata, Maryland, was staying in a motel room. They located Labanowski in her room and confirmed she was wanted out of King George County and Maryland. A male found in the room provided a false identification before being correctly identified as Justin Iwanicki, 44, of Waldorf, Maryland. Labanowski was charged with fugitive of justice and held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail. Iwanicki was charged with providing false identification to law enforcement and identity fraud. He was held on a $1,000 secured bond.

Weapons — Hill Lane, 9/5, 4:17 p.m. The victim located a bullet hole in the window of her residence. The bullet was located in a doorframe inside the home. The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on September 5. The investigation is ongoing.

Burglary — Renee Road, 9/3, 6:51 p.m. Electronics were stolen from the victim’s residence. The residence was left unlocked. The theft occurred sometime between 10 p.m. on September 2 and 6:30 a.m. on September 3.

Vandalism — Bristol Court, 9/5, 10:05 a.m. The window on the passenger side sliding door was shattered on the victim’s Chrysler mini-van. It appeared a glass bottle was thrown at the window causing the damage. The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between 11 p.m. on September 4 and 3 a.m. on September 5.
