Sentara becomes county’s first trauma center to treat serious injuries

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is now Prince William County's first trauma center.

The hospital in Woodbridge is now a level-three trauma center and will receive patients who have been involved in serious crashes and other incidents.

  • Pedestrian struck by vehicles
  • Falls
  • Stabbings
  • Burns
  • Animal bites

Historically, emergency crews have taken all patients with life-threatening injuries out of the county.
