You can't say Prince William County taxpayers don't support the arts.
The Board of County Supervisors this week handed over $193,000 of county funds to 14 hand-picked, non-profit "eligible organizations that represent the full spectrum of local performing arts," county documents state. The funds were awarded after the county received 15 grant applications for the money.
The resolution to fund the organizations was placed on the Board of County Supervisors' consent agenda on Tuesday, July 13, where it passed in a 7-1 vote. Coles District Supervisor Yesli Vega was the lone dissenting vote.
