In-person networking events making a comeback

Get ready to shake hands again.

The Prince William Chamber of Commerce will hold two in-person events this month — the first since the coronavirus pandemic began 14 months ago.

Called Tailgate Tuesdays, the chamber will serve coffee to business owners who gather for the first event tomorrow, May 11, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., outside Uptown Alley at Manassas Mall, located at 8300 Sudley Road.

The chamber writes:

Tailgate Tuesday: A Coffee Social is an opportunity for IN PERSON Networking, an outdoor pop-up to ease back into in-person networking. Bring your mask, for when you are not enjoying a beverage, and do some in-person marketing. Hosted by: Mr. Handyman and Coffee Provided by Sonic Partners.

A second Tailgate Tuesday will be held on June 8 at the former home of the Potomac Nationals, the Richard G. Pfitzner Stadium in Woodridge. The chamber encourages attendees to bring their facemasks to wear outside. The CDC has said people who have been vaccinated should not need a mask while outdoors.

“This past year-plus, the chamber has had to adapt to the circumstances and follow the guidelines. The idea for Tailgate Tuesday was developed through conversations with our Chamber counterparts across the region as a way to provide an in-person networking experience for our members,” said Prince William Chamber COO Ross Snare. “We are excited about the response we have received for Tuesday’s event.”

On April 30, the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce held its annual salute to its outgoing Board of Director Chairman with an in-person event held on the field of the new Fredericksburg Nationals stadium. The team moved from Woodbridge to Fredericksburg in 2018, and after a year hiatus due to the pandemic, will take the field at home for the first time tomorrow night.
