Senator Tim Kaine will be in our region Thursday, touring some area businesses and a vaccine clinic.
In the morning, Kaine will visit four Fredericksburg businesses to meet with the owners and talk about their challenges and federal relief efforts. Kaine will then hold a roundtable with Fredericksburg Mayor Mary Katherine Greenlaw and local business owners to discuss the coronavirus effect on their businesses and their experience with the Paycheck Protection Program.
In the coronavirus relief package passed in December, Kaine worked to secure a second round of PPP forgivable loans for small businesses and nonprofits and fought to include additional funding to expand the program in the most recent COVID relief package that passed the Senate last week.
