Prince William teacher alleges coronavirus violations, threatens School Board

A Prince William County school teacher threatened to blow the whistle if the division didn't revert to all-virtual online learning.

An email to At-large School Board Chairman Dr. Babur Lateef, obtained by PLN through a Freedom of Information Act order, alleges 38 school employees at as many as 15 schools have noted problems with mitigation strategies put in place by the school division to protect employees against the coronavirus.

Staff who have tested positive for the virus are not allowed to talk about it with other employees and are not allowed to tell parents, alleges Brandie Provenzano, an English teacher at Battlefield High School near Haymarket and the author of the email.
