King moves to kill 2 bills aimed at improving election integrity in Virginia

Democrats today killed two efforts aimed at strengthening election integrity in Virginia.

House Bill 1970 to reestablish voter ID rules, which would require voters to show a government-issued ID at the polls showing proof of residence, was killed today in a Privileges and Elections Committee subcommittee.

The subcommittee met virtually at 11 a.m. to discuss several election-related bills. Delegate Mark Cole (R-Spotsylvania, Stafford) introduced the legislation. He told committee members he had received multiple from constituents who said that when they had gone to the polls to vote, they told their vote had already been recorded and that they had already voted.
