Deborah Marie (Theroux) Gombar, 71 years old, a longtime resident of Montclair, Virginia died early Friday morning, January 1st at home. Fortunately she did not pass alone as so many have this past year. Ron Mravinec, her devoted partner was by her side.
She was born March 29, 1949 and raised in Agawam, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Agnes Hazel (Theroux) O’Brien and Lawrence Theroux. She graduated from Agawam High School and Chamberlayne Junior College in Boston.
She was a talented and creative small business owner in Occoquan, Virginia for many years before starting her second career as a tax preparer for H&R Block. She enjoyed her retirement years doting on her grandchildren, filling their days with thoughtful and sweet gestures, as only “Grandmom” could. She was also a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
Surviving her are her partner, Ron Mravinec of College Park, Maryland and his daughter Regina Mravinec of Charlotte, North Carolina; her two children, her daughter Gina Gombar of Boston, Massachusetts; her son Brett Gombar and his wife Samantha Emch Gombar of Denver, Colorado; two grandchildren Evelyn and Luke Gombar; her brother Richard Theroux and his wife Carol of Agawam, Massachusetts and their children Katharine (Theroux) Murphy and Michael Theroux; as well as many special cousins.
She will be remembered for her kind and loving heart.
