The Rock Hill Volunteer Fire Station in Stafford County is about to undergo some much-needed repairs.
The Stafford County Board of Supervisors approved $258,000 in funding to be used to repair the volunteer fire Station 8, located at 2133 Garrisonville Road. The 45-year-old building requires structural and finishing repairs due to mold. The building is also getting upgrades to its building's heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.
According to Stafford fire chief Joseph Cardello, these problems caused both health and air quality issues for the volunteers at the station.
