There are two new millionaires in our region this New Year’s Day.

A winning $1 million ticket for Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle was sold at a 7-Eleven store at 13360 Minnieville Road in Woodbridge, near a DMV office on Caton Hill Road.

A second $1 million ticket was sold at a Royal Farms store at 5301 Jefferson Davis Highway, at Four Mile Fork in Spotsylvania County, just outside Fredericksburg.

The game dates back to 2007 and awards four $1 million prizes, six $100,000 prizes, and a total of 500 — $500 prizes.

The Virginia Lottery has not announced the names of the winning tickets. The numbers were posted to the state lottery website in hopes the winners will check their tickets and come forward to claim their prizes.

The two other $1 million winning tickets were sold at a 7-Eleven and a Sheetz store in Virginia Beach and Farmville, respectively.
