Woodbridge man arrested in Dale City area shooting

Police have a suspect in custody in connection to the shooting investigation that occurred at a home in the 13000 block of Chaddsford Terrace near Dale City on Monday, December 28, was arrested.

At 10:5 p.m. Monday, officers were called to a home in the 13000 block of Chaddsford Terrace investigate shots fired call.

The 21-year-old male victim told police that gunshots were fired towards him as he stepped outside of his home. The investigation revealed that an acquaintance, later identified as the suspect, contacted the victim and asked him to come outside of his residence, a Prince William police spokeswoman said.

When the victim exited his home, he saw a car slowing down in front of his home. The victim saw the suspect inside of the car, and then that same suspect fired a shot at the victim, police said.

The bullet missed its target, and the victim went back into the home and called police. When they arrived, officers collected a shell casing in the street in front of the home.

Michael Jared McDaniel, 20, of 14970 Potomac Heights Place in Woodbridge, is charged with attempted malicious wounding and shooting a firearm from a vehicle.
