Carl W. (Jake) Jacobson, 77, of Triangle, VA, passed away on December 20, 2020.
Carl was born in Chicago, IL to Rose Jacobson on December 27, 1942. He married Jane Jacobson on July 22, 1962 in Washington, D.C. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Forrestal. He retired from Metro after 30 years. After retiring from Metro he worked at the Fredericksburg Auto Auction, where he also retired.
Carl is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jane Jacobson; daughter, Becky Spencer and husband Jeff; son, David Jacobson and wife Kimberlee; son, Mark Jacobson and wife Susan; daughter Mary Esther Jacobson; Grandchildren, Michael, Benjamin, Shelby, Logan, and Olivia Jacobson and Taylor Marean; and Great Granddaughter, Isla Jacobson.
Carl is preceded in death by his mother, Rose Jacobson.
Carl never knew a stranger, he loved meeting new people and telling his many jokes. He maintained friendships with many of the people he worked with at Metro even after he retired. He belonged to the Amalgamated Transit Union 689 and the American Legion. He loved music, especially Jim Reeves. His favorite songs were Precious Memories and I’ll Fly Away. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Due to COVID-19, services will be limited to family only, but we would love to hear any stories or memories that you may have. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association or St. Jude’s would be greatly appreciated.
Services will be private at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home with Burial at Quantico National Ceremony.
