Mirrors removed from car parked outside Dollar General

A driver came out of a store to find the side mirrors missing.

Stafford County notes the most recent crime reports today in a press release.

PROVIDING FALSE ID TO LAW ENFORCEMENT

500 block of Warrenton Road, 11/16, 8:24 a.m. Deputy B.W. Gildea stopped a vehicle in the area and attempted to identify the driver. The driver provided the deputy his name which was determined to be a false identity. The deputy was later able to correctly identify the driver as Allen Lewis, 52, of Fredericksburg. It was learned Lewis was wanted for charges out of Spotsylvania County and Culpeper County. Lewis was arrested for providing false identification to law enforcement, identity theft to avoid arrest, fugitive of justice, and operating a motor vehicle by a habitual offender. He was also served the outstanding warrants. Lewis was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

FRAUD
Woods Edge Court, 11/16, 12:52 p.m. The victim reported she received a call from someone claiming to be a deputy with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. The caller told her she had warrants out for her arrest and she needed to purchase a MoneyPak for $500. The victim complied and gave the MoneyPak information to the caller. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that deputies will never call and demand payment over the phone.

LARCENY
1348 Courthouse Road, Dollar General, 11/16, 12:01 p.m. The victim reported the side mirrors on his vehicle had been stolen while it was parked at the business. The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between 8 p.m. on November 13 and 11 a.m. on November 16.
