Fredericksburg election: All may vote at home, but all must apply for ballot

There’s an election coming up in Fredericksburg on May 19, where city residents will have a chance to elect new members of the city council and school board.

City spokeswoman Sonja Cantu tells Potomac Local News:

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic all Fredericksburg voters may vote at home, via an absentee ballot. All voters qualify to vote at home, but all must apply by completing an application. If you want a ballot, you should apply now. Do not wait.  Apply online here: Voter Registrar’s webpage or you can download an application here to apply for an absentee ballot:   Absentee Application (PDF)

Absentee applications completed online are automatically submitted. All other applications may be returned via fax, email, or mail delivery.  Voter Registrar’s Office contact information: email: [email protected] or call 540-372-1030.

The last day to request an absentee ballot to be mailed to you is May 12, 2020, but it is strongly recommended to apply now.  Absentee voting by mail is strongly encouraged.
