Illegal drugs made their way inside the Rappahannock Regional Jail in Stafford County, and now multiple inmates face charges.
A joint investigation by the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and the Rappahannock Regional Jail’s Gang Unit has been investigating numerous individuals who were involved in attempting to have illegal drugs smuggled into the jail through the mail.
During the investigation, more than eight pieces of mail were seized for containing hidden illegal drugs, according to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Amanda Vicinanzo.
The inmates who received the mail were identified as Darnell Richardson, 30, of Spotsylvania; Robert Keating, 27, of Spotsylvania; Kody Banks, 27, of Stafford; and Jeffrey Kenniston, 23, of Stafford, said Vicinanzo.
Detectives determined that the inmates were working together to attempt to smuggle the illegal drugs into the jail, said Vicinanzo. The suspects received warrants for conspiring to deliver drugs to jail and other drug-related charges.
Authorities say they also know who sent the drugs to the jail. Juanita Miller, 52, of Spotsylvania has been charged with conspiring to deliver drugs to a jail, said Vicinanzo. She was released on bond.
Amber Rogers-Amos, 30, of Spotsylvania has been charged with delivering drugs to a jail, distribution of a schedule III drug, and conspiracy to distribute, said Vicinanzo.
Rogers-Amos was arrested at her home by the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit after she jumped from a second-story window in an attempt to avoid arrest, said Vicinanzo. She was incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
The investigation continues.
The Rappahannock Regional Jail is located at 1745 Jefferson Davis Highway in Stafford.

As I tell my patients, we are in this together.”
Jay Tyroler, MD considers his patients quite literally as family. “I believe there’s nothing more honorable than helping patients when they’re sick, or scared, or feeling vulnerable, and I care for them exactly as I would my loved ones.” Whether for a specialist referral, urgent health issue or ongoing follow up, “My patients know I’m always just a phone call away.”
