Eric Noah Rivers

Eric Noah Rivers, 24, of Woodbridge took his life on March 20, 2020. He is survived by his loving mother Sandy Rivers of Dale City, sister Paige Rivers, grandparents Peg and Al Rivers, and stepfather Kevin Utzy. He is also survived by “Nana” Dagorn and his cousins Nathan Rivers and Cara Rivers.

Eric was born in Fairfax, Va. but spent his childhood and young adult life in Woodbridge. He graduated from Gar-Field High School and became very involved in the marching band as a drummer. Rush was one of his favorite bands, and he played “Tom Sawyer” at the high school talent show.  He was very interested in board games and loved World of Warcraft and Magic The Gathering. He was an avid animation enthusiast and attended gaming events at local shops.

Eric always strived to be excellent. He worked out consistently and wanted to become his best so that he could help other people. Eric was a very private person but he put his best out to the world, wanting to help people and be of service. He recently achieved certification for Emergency Medical Technician and had been a firefighter for the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

Everyone who knew him talked about his strong work ethic and compassion for others. Eric achieved Life Scout level in Boy Scouts and was passionate about camping, games, hiking, biking, playing the drums, and socializing with others. His life was dedicated to service and to caring about others and there is no way to describe how badly he will be missed. I wish he knew how much he was loved.
