The 19th annual Breakfast with Santa at Forest Park High School (FPHS) will be held on Saturday, December 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the school’s cafeteria with free holiday music and support from the U.S. Marines. A press release states:
The annual holiday event, which is free and open to the public, invites families and members of the Dumfries community to celebrate the holidays with the FPHS students and staff.
This year’s event will feature several musical performances of “The Polar Express,” by the FPHS, A Street Bruins, and an appearance by the U.S. Marines. During the event, guests will be treated to a hot pancake breakfast, and enjoy delicious treats including marshmallows, gingerbread and sugar cookies, and candy. The FPHS choir will also be on hand to serenade guests with Christmas carols throughout the breakfast.
Children in attendance can also expect to meet Santa, play holiday games, and take part in a number of fun activities, such as getting their nails done by Santa’s elves, baking gingerbread cookies, and hearing a holiday story read by Mrs. Clause. Frosty the Snowman, Buddy the Elf, and Elsa from Frozen will also be on hand to meet and greet guests.
As in years past, the FPHS Robotics Team is expected to once again bring their STEM expertise to the event with their Sleigh-Bots and Reindeer games as part of interactive stations that allow children to drive different robots and learn more about STEM in a fun environment.
The annual event is expected to attract well over 100 guests.
