Police in Manassas say they’re working to curb theft and abuse of prescription medications.
In a new partnership, they’re now working to take back prescription meds in an effort to bring awareness to drug misuse and abuse.
Police say:
The Manassas City Police Department, with the assistance of CVS Pharmacy and The Partnership at Drugfree.org, is now offering medication disposal to members of the community.
Citizens are encouraged to drop off their unused and unwanted medication to the secure collection unit located in the lobby of Manassas City Police’s headquarters which is located at 9518 Fairview Avenue. The medication collected will be safely disposed of.
Accepted items:
• Prescriptions, including: patches,
medications, ointments
• Over-the-counter medications
• Vitamins
• Pet medications
Not accepted items:
• Medications from businesses/clinics
• Hydrogen peroxide
• Needles (sharps)
• Inhalers
