ADELAIDE “Addie” WENZEL, age 73, passed away on August 14, 2019 in Gainseville, VA. Beloved sister and aunt, Addie is survived by her sister Virginia Peitler and brothers Robert, Kenneth, and Donald Wenzel. She is also survived by four nieces, 10 nephews, 8 great nieces, and 10 great nephews.
Addie was a graduate of Dominican Commercial High School in Jamaica, NY and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Marymount Manhattan College in Manhattan, NY.
She had a long and distinguished 36-year career with the Pfizer International Pharmaceutical Corporation, climbing the corporate ladder, culminating as an International Market Research Manager. Addie shared her passion of travel with her family. She is remembered as a jetsetter because of her extensive professional and personal international travel, vacation trips with loved ones, and retirement snowbird trips to Florida and Hawaii, always sharing her experiences via postcard and returning with wonderful stories, and pictures. She will be most remembered for her loving, supportive, and generous nature. “Aunt Addie,” was always there for her family, especially her nieces and nephews with love and encouragement.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18 form 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home 4143 Dale Boulevard, Dale City, Virginia 22193. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 18825 Fuller Heights Road, Triangle, VA 22172 with internment immediately following at the Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, VA 20109.
