Colonial Forge High School mourns student killed in crash

STAFFORD COUNTY — A 17-year-old girl was killed after she was involved in a crash in Stafford County.

The crash occurred Thursday, May 16 at 4:48 p.m. on Kellogg Mill Road. A car driven by the teenager was attempting to make a left turn onto Kellogg Mill Road from the Abel Lake Boat Ramp parking lot when it was struck by a roll-off container truck.

The 17-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene. The Sheriff’s Office is currently not releasing the name of the deceased out of sensitivity to the family, said Stafford sheriff’s spokeswoman Amanda Vicinanzo.

A 17-year-old male passenger who was also inside the car at the time of the crash was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later released.

The girl was a student at Colonial Forge High School.

The investigation is ongoing.
