Grand jury indicts man in fatal Woodbridge shooting

MANASSAS — A grand jury indicted a man in a murder that occurred on Rippon Boulevard in March.

On May 6, the Grand Jury for Prince William County returned multiple indictments against the man previously arrested in connection to the shooting death of a 25-year-Daniel James Gilliam, of Woodbridge.

He was shot just after midnight on March 3 in the area of Rippon Boulevard and Route 1.

The suspect, identified as Markus Sean-Thurman Dean, was arrested the day of the shooting, prior to the victim’s death, and was originally charged with aggravated malicious wounding, according to police.

The case findings were presented to the Grand Jury resulting in the issuance of the indictments. The accused remains incarcerated at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center, according to police.

Dean is in jail and has a court date of May 24. He’s charged with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
