Man injured after tussle with cops

WOODBRIDGE — A man in police custody was injured after he got into a fight with officers.

Prince William police tell us that on Saturday, April 27 at 10 p.m., officers were participating in a hearing with the accused at the Magistrate’s office located at 15948 Donald Curtis Dr. in Woodbridge.

The accused was before the magistrate following a trespassing investigation. During the encounter, the accused used his upper body to strike the officer multiple times in the chest.

After a brief struggle, the accused was detained without further incident. Minor injuries were reported by the accused who was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jose Fernando Trevino, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer.

His court date is scheduled for May 30. He was held on $3,000 Secured Bond
