WOODBRIDGE — IKEA furniture instructions are notorious for using photos to show how to put items together.
Now three non-profits in the region are about to compete to see which one can best follow those instructions.
IKEA Woodbridge at Potomac Mills mall will host the IKEA Building Battle. The non-profit organizations that will be participating are:
- ACTS – (Action in the community through services) provides relief, fosters hope and promotes self-sufficiency for Prince William County)
- The House – A student leadership center
- Hylton Boys and Girls Club in Dale City
The teams will be building sets of IKEA shelves.
The build off will start with two organizations, the winner of the first battle will then build against the next organization. All three organizations will take home the furniture they built.
The winner of the battle will receive an additional $100 IKEA Gift Card.
Additionally, each organization will have a chance to inform the community about the programs that they will be offering this summer.
The building battle will take place in the store’s self-serve warehouse from 6:30-8 p.m Friday, May 10.
