A Manassas Park woman has died after she was involved in a crash.
Virginia State Police S.K. Burke-Smith is investigating a two-vehicle crash in Culpeper County that occurred Friday, April 26, 2019 at 2:53 p.m. on (Route 802) Springs Road at 50 feet east of Fair Oaks Drive.
A 2006 Toyota Rav-4 was traveling east on Springs Road when the driver lost control, ran off of the roadway right, struck an embankment, overcorrected and struck a 2006 Chevy Express Van that was traveling westbound, according to a Virginia State Police spokesman.
The driver of the Toyota, Stephanie N. Rix, 29, of Manassas Park suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Fauquier Hospital. Rix was later flown to INOVA Fairfax Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Rix was wearing her seat-belt.
The driver of the Chevy, a 22-year-old man from Culpeper suffered minor injuries in the crash. The male was wearing his seat-belt. Â Â
No charges have been placed.
The crash remains under investigation.
Virginia State Police was assisted by Little Fork Volunteer Fire Department and Culpeper County EMS. Â
