Triangle man claims $1 million prize with winning lotto ticket

WOODBRIDGE — A man from Triangle is the latest Virginia Lottery winner.

In a press release, the lottery told Potomac Local winner Anthony Wesley of Triangle had a funny feeling when his wife returned home from shopping and said, “Hey. someone won for a million dollars at Shoppers. Was it you?”

He was only half-joking when he replied, “It probably was.”

That’s because he knew he’d bought a Mega Millions ticket at Shoppers in Dumfries for the April 16 drawing, and he was feeling lucky.

It turns out that he was indeed the $1 million winner. His ticket matched the first five numbers and missed only the Mega Ball number. The winning numbers were 11-29-34-48-54 and the Mega Ball number was 10. He used Easy Pick and allowed the computer to randomly select the numbers on his ticket.

Mr. Wesley said he plans to invest his winnings for his children. He also vows to win again.

The Virginia Lottery operates a claims office at Potomac Festival Shopping Center in Woodbridge.
