Armed robbery in Manassas Mall investigated

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY – (Press Release) On March 23 at 5:40 p.m., officers responded to the Macy’s within Manassas Mall located at 8270 Sudley Rd. in Manassas to investigate an armed robbery.

A store employee reported to police that three juvenile males entered the store and selected merchandise from the racks. Two of the males entered the dressing room area with the merchandise and, when they exited the dressing room, the merchandise had been concealed. The three males then attempted to exit the store where another employee encountered them. One suspect made verbal threats while brandishing a knife at the employee. The three suspects fled the scene on foot.

An officer canvassing the area recovered the merchandise in a surrounding neighborhood. The suspects were not located. No injuries were reported.

In other news, officers were on patrol in the 1900 block of Richmond Ave. in Woodbridge when they observed two individuals known to be wanted out of another jurisdiction. The suspects were identified as Laura Lee TATE and John ROBINSON.

When officers attempted to detain Ms. TATE, she slammed the door of the residence on to the officer causing minor injuries. Then officers attempted to take Mr. ROBINSON into custody when he resisted as well. Both TATE and ROBINSON fled the scene. Attempts to locate the wanted individuals have been negative at this time.
